HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAILEY!!!

Happy 12th Birthday. Has it really been 12 years since I held you on my chest all night? Talking with Mom trying to decide on the perfect name for our first child, looking at your cute fingers and toes. Wondering what you would grow up to be like. Hoping you would become everything you wanted. Has it really been almost 7 years since you started school? And now you are onto Jr. High! Has it really be 4 years since I was able to Baptize you? And now you are starting Young Womens?

Wow! Are we getting old????

What a ride its been. I think you will agree. Those that know Hailey well know she is a firecracker. Always going and doing. She doesn't like to sit still and do nothing. She can always be found with a soccer ball (well any ball becomes a soccer ball if needed I have learned) and is always looking to play soccer. (I think the boys in the neighborhood have finally given up trying to play soccer with her!) She has been very blessed in her soccer life. When she first started playing Rec, she wasn't the best but it didn't take her long to climb that ladder. She told her parents one day she wanted to tryout for Comp League soccer. We told her OK but don't be disappointed when you don't make it. You can always play rec another year and try out again next year. Well not only did she make it but she made the premier team for her age. It didn't take her long to find her role on that team and help them be competitive. She continued to learn, grow, and build her skills on that team for the next few years to where she was voted captian and was the leading goal scorer for her division! One day she tells us that she wants to tryout for the ODP (Olympic Development Program) Soccer team with one of her soccer friends. Again her loving parents tell her not to be disappointed if she doesn't make it this year she can always try out again next year. Of course her parents were wrong again, she made her ODP age groups team! Fast forward to today - on your 12th birthday you have been selected to play for THE PREMIER Soccer team in UTAH (What a birthday present!) You set your sights high with your goals and you show all of us that dreams can be reached with the right attitude, focus, desire, determination, passion, and practice! Thanks for showing your parents that dreams come true. Sometimes we get sceptical in our old age! Keep up the hard work and you will always be successful in all you do!
